How to Measure Industrial Conveyor Belts

The circumference of an industrial conveyor belt refers to the length of the belt when fully extended, not the length of a single side.
1. Segmented Measurement Method: Mark anywhere on the belt, measure a certain length, mark again, rotate the belt, and measure again until you reach the mark at the beginning. Add up all the measurements to get the belt's circumference (suitable for belts with difficult-to-remove equipment).
2. Folding Method: Straighten and tighten the belt at both ends, measure the length directly, and multiply by 2 to get the circumference (suitable for disassembled belts).
3. Straightline Method: Cut the belt and measure the length directly with a tape measure (suitable for old and unused belts).
Width Measurement
Width refers to the width of the industrial conveyor belt, not the width of the conveyor equipment. Because conveyor equipment has mechanical edges on both sides, the thickness of the conveyor belt is also an important measurement criterion. Use a caliper or ruler to directly measure the width of the conveyor belt. Slight errors, such as a millimeter, generally do not affect performance as long as the pulley is large enough.
Thickness Measurement: Use a caliper to directly measure the width of the conveyor belt.
