What Are The Methods For Conveyor Belt Joints
Date:2024-12-05 10:32:23 Browse :Conveyor belts are key material conveying equipment. During use, they may encounter high-speed operation or harsh working environments. Their surfaces are prone to defects or even breakage, which will not only affect production efficiency but may also damage the equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to replace severely damaged belts regularly.
Replacing the belt requires re-joining. At present, the main conveyor belt joint methods are vulcanized joints, cold-bonded joints, and nail-button joints.
Vulcanized joints
The hot vulcanized joint method is achieved by heating and pressurizing the belt vulcanizer. This method is suitable for large-scale conveying equipment and is currently an ideal joint method. It can make the belt joint part completely sealed, not affected by moisture, has a long service life, and the belt runs stably. The hot vulcanized joint method is commonly used for steel wire belts and layered nylon belt joints. However, the equipment investment of the hot vulcanized joint method is large, the operation is complicated, and professional technicians are required to operate it.
Cold bonding joint
For belt conveyors with shorter distances, the hot vulcanization bonding method may be more expensive for users. Therefore, for users of medium-distance belt conveyors, the cold bonding method becomes simple and reliable. It is not only more convenient in operation, but more importantly, it can save considerable cost investment. Therefore, sometimes, the cost of the conveyor belt of a short-distance belt conveyor is not even as high as the cost of hot vulcanization. The cold bonding method of the conveyor belt is similar to the layered method of hot vulcanization. Both use the layered bonding method. The difference is that after layering, adhesive is directly used for bonding and natural air drying is relied on to achieve the bonding effect.
Nail buckle joint
There are still many manufacturers and users who use the nail buckle method. The advantage of this method is that it is convenient for belt conveyors to disassemble and transport. Avoid the inconvenience of installing the conveyor belt after the ring. This joint method is more convenient than the first two. It can be used when a vulcanizer or glue master cannot be found. Still, it is only applicable to shorter belt conveyors. For conveyor belt buckles, buckles like this are more common. It is relatively strong.
