Key Considerations For Installing PU Food Conveyor Belts

Conveyor belts for food are usually made of PU, PVC, silicone or Teflon. Today, we will mainly introduce PU food conveyor belts. PU conveyor belts meet food hygiene standards, can be directly in contact with food, have moderate color and no odor, and are suitable for conveying moon cakes, biscuits, candies, and other foods. So, what details should be paid attention to when installing PU food conveyor belts?

PU food conveyor belt installation details

1. Correct shaft insertion and direction confirmation

Put the rolling sensitive shaft on the conveyor belt winding core and put it on the roller rack. Before installation, please pay special attention to the direction of the upper and lower cover rubber to ensure that the conveyor belt is facing up and avoid placing it on the reverse side.

2. Unfolding and bending radius

If the workplace is unsuitable for direct racking, the PU conveyor belt can be unfolded first. When unfolding, the folding part needs to maintain a large enough bending radius to prevent damage to the conveyor belt. At the same time, avoid placing heavy objects on the folding part.

3. Connecting the old belt with the new belt

When replacing the conveyor belt, the new conveyor belt can be connected to the old conveyor belt. By running the old conveyor belt, the process of unloading and installing the new belt can be completed at the same time.

4. Cutting point selection

For horizontal conveyors, the old conveyor belt can be cut at any position. For inclined conveyors, selecting a suitable cutting point is necessary to avoid loss of control due to the weight of the conveyor belt slipping.

5. Balanced traction installation

After straightening the new conveyor belt, fix one end with a clamp. Then, use a rope around the roller and pulley to pull the belt to balance and erect it on the conveyor. During the traction process, avoid squeezing the belt and the frame.

6. Tightening and adjustment

Use a clamp to fix one end of the conveyor belt to the conveyor belt frame, and tighten the other end through the pulley until the conveyor belt has no obvious droop on the return idler.

7. Tensioning device fixing

After installation, fix the tensioning device at a distance of 100-150 mm from the starting point to ensure moderate conveyor belt tension.

The importance of installation precautions

The above introduces the details to consider when installing PU food conveyor belts. The correct installation method can not only avoid many unnecessary troubles but also extend the service life of the conveyor belt. If not installed correctly, faults such as deviation, wear or belt breakage may occur later. Therefore, follow the correct steps to ensure the conveyor belt runs stably and efficiently.
