What Is Endless Flat Conveyor Belt

A flat belt is a kind of transmission belt, including polyester TC material, rubber material, and sheet material. It can play a buffering role, has good flexing properties, and can work on smaller pulleys. It is also adaptable to variable loads.

1. Polyester TC material is generally used on high-speed equipment, and the joint method is tooth joint process. The belt body is soft, anti-static effect is strong, high tensile resistance, good dimensional stability, and smooth transmission.

2. Flat belt with sheet material is used on equipment with large transmission force. The upper and lower lap joint process has the characteristics of good wear resistance, energy saving, stable performance, and long service life.

How To Splice Endless Flat Belt

1. Mechanical joint refers to the use of a belt buckle joint, which is convenient and economical. If the belt is damaged during use, when you want to replace a new belt, this belt buckle joint is easy to replace. However, the joint is inefficient and easy to damage, which has a certain impact on the service life of the conveyor belt product.

2. Cold bonding joint, that is, using cold bonding adhesive to make joints, using adhesive as raw material to connect the two ends of the conveyor belt. The key to the cold bonding effect depends on the glue used and whether it is seamlessly processed. Because this method has the advantages of high joint strength, no noise, no vibration, simple operation, and short joint time, it is widely used. However, from a practical point of view, it is difficult to master the process conditions, and the quality of the adhesive has a great impact on the joint, so it is not very stable. In addition, the cold bonding conveyor belt is not suitable for humid and temperature-required materials.

3. Hot vulcanized joint, the conveyor belt interface of the hot vulcanized joint is completely closed and not easily soaked by water. The process of belt vulcanization joint is generally to place the lower frame of the vulcanizer on the belt frame, align the two ends, and then put the water pressure plate, small insulation board, and lower insulation board in turn. A 1-2 meter platform is installed on both sides of the two vulcanizers and fixed. The upper surface of the platform should be flush with or slightly lower than the upper surface of the lower heating plate. At the same time, it should not affect the tension of the pull rod. Put the two joints of the belt on the platform and start vulcanization. This method is currently the ideal joint method, which can ensure high joint efficiency, is also very stable, has a long joint life, and is easy to master. However, the hot vulcanization joint process is more complicated and requires high personnel, while the cold bonding process is simple and can be put into use after short-term training.


The flat belt consists of a strong layer, a stretching layer, a bearing layer and a covering layer. It has a simple structure and stable transmission. It is not self-locking, so it needs to be tensioned by a tensioning device. Flat belts are suitable for working under conditions where the transmission ratio i<5. When the transmission is relatively large, the bending stress of the tape should be considered, and a narrow belt should be used. Flat belts are mainly used on the loose side output or input shafts of electric motors, internal combustion engines, generators and small power machinery.
